rooster59
No Korat copycat - but drugged Bangkok shooter denied bail is a "danger to the public" Image: Daily News A man has been denied bail and faces four serious charges including attempted murder after a shooting incident in downtown Bangkok yesterday. But the incident seems to have no connection with last week's mayhem at the Terminal 21 shopping mall in Korat. Maj-Gen Nitinan Petchbarom of the metropolitan police said that Ekachai Jareuksin was denied bail on the basis that he is a danger to the public. He was arrested after shots were fired at Chula Soi 10 in the early hours and later yesterday morning. A Colt 9mm gun and a Glock 36 were recovered. Ekachai tested positive with a purple urine test result at the police hospital. He was deemed not to be a patient suffering from mental problems. He has been charged with attempted murder, having a gun in a public place, discharging a weapon without good reason and drug taking. He is in the custody of the Pathumwan police and is expected to appear in court today. No mention was made in the Daily News report of any connection with Korat or copycat activity.
