Looking For A Reasonable Place To Stay In/near London

Featured Replies

Now that my girlfriend has got her UK visa we're headed off to the UK for a holiday next month. Since I don't own property in the UK any longer I wondered if any members had good tips for somewhere to stay in or around London. Ideally we'd wish to rent somewhere in London for about a week before traveling around the rest of the UK but the aparthotels I have seen on the web come with eye watering prices! Hotels in London are of course twice the rate of anywhere else in the country and picking a hotel from the internet can be risky at best.

Any tips or insight will be gratefully received.

Thanks

Try easy hotels, google it, they are cheap but basic and very orange. still, you'll only be sleeping there won't you? Set up by the man who does easyjet. We stayed in one last year. As I said, cheap but very very basic and you have to get your own breakfast.

when you get there go to bayswater there are a lot of hotels where you can get a double for 50 pound a night

Try the YHA/ Youth Hostel Association. Everybody is welcome now unlike before when you had to be young !

With property prices shooting up you are unlikely to find truly cheap accommostation in the capital.

Travelinn, Travelodge & motels are reasonable and often have good deals on. Ibis hotels are reasonable too. All are bookable over the net.

www.smoothhound.co.uk is a good place to look.
