webfact
Minister pushes for prosecution of woman who put out 'false message' on Covid-19 By The Nation Digital Economy Minister Puttipong Punnakanta has sought an arrest warrant from the court and police action against a woman suspected of spreading fake news about Covid-19 in Huai Khwang district, Bangkok, on Tuesday morning. The suspect had allegedly posted a message on her Twitter account saying 40 people in her neighbourhood were infected with Covid-19. After learning from the Ministry of Public Health that there was no infection in the area, Puttipong ordered police to seek her prosecution. The suspect reportedly said that she did not realise her remarks would be a big matter, as in her message she had not claimed the information was true. She said she just wanted to warn people who were involved with her business to be careful.
