Royal Thai Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Manat Wongwat said the force’s Disaster Mitigation Centre will produce 50,000 fabric face masks to be distributed to personnel amid the Covid-19 situation.

“The centre is capable of making 2,000 pieces per day,” he said. “These fabric face masks are washable and durable, and they are suitable for those who have a low risk of contracting the virus, like general staff who do not have direct contact with infected patients.”

Furthermore, the Air Force Wives Club is coming out with a tutorial video clip for the general public on how to make a non-woven face mask at home.

“These masks are made of non-woven fabric, which is normally used when disinfecting medical equipment, and requires no sewing,” said Manat. “Apart from the non-woven fabric, you will only need two-sided adhesive tape, elastic bands and a small piece of wire to make it fit your nose.”

The Air Force will also provide a kit set to make non-woven face masks for its personnel in case the fabric masks are not enough.

Thailand is the business of material fabrications now? what, they have their own factories or are they using women cadets as labor?... what next i wonder...

i want to see stories about 7 Eleven, Big C, Makro truck drivers wearing masks and the steps that are being taken to ensure supply lines so we all don't starve to death.

First, I admit to some confusion. But that's because I seem to be reading contradictory information.

Some reports seem to indicate that masks are useful to keep pathogens in, NOT  helpful to keep pathogens out. So not sure why truck drivers would need to wear masks, unless they are sick already.

Why not buy from Saraburi?

Thailand has been in the business of material fabrication for centuries. You never heard of Thai silk or Jim Thompson?

No fear of me dying of starvation or many other people in Issaan. The veggie garden is doing quite well. You city slickers however......hopefully there isn't a shortage of can openers.
