Yellow Book

Featured Replies

One of my friends has told me that when he applied for a Yellow Book he was told to return after it was issued within days to receive an ID card? or be fined. I've had my book for years and can't recall this requirement and didn't think Farangs were issued ID cards. Surely that is what your passport is for.

to get and ID pink card is not a requirement, it's on a voluntary basis, where did your friend apply

Pink ID card is tied to your house book, same as Thai citizens.

Mine - and I think all Foreigners - start with 6

All I needed to register my latest bike in my name

Now green book has me in it - in Thai characters !!!

I don't know but reading another subscriber I suppose he needs it for a motorbike registration. Thanks

Returning? It is tied to the house. And the pink ID card is linked to the yellow book.

You will have both.

Yellow book can have more people, if foreigner, registered in it.

Got my book and card the same day.

No such thing of returning for the ID as replacement, thats what I understamd from reading the OP.

Only migrant workers can be fined for not getting the pink non Thai ID card. In fact they wouldn't give me one, despite me showing them the law about 10 years ago.
