Grab Thailand today (March 10) confirmed that it has been business as usual despite a five-day shutdown of its office.

Regarding the rumor spreading on social media that a Grab employee has contracted Covid-19, Grab Thailand has informed the followings:

1) Grab confirms that one employee from its corporate office (Grab Holdings Inc) in Singapore has come down with Covid -19. The employee was tested positive on March 7 in Singapore and is currently in a Singapore hospital receiving treatment. Grab will be providing this employee and his family every support and guidance during this challenging time.

2) This employee visited Grab Thailand's office in UBC 2 building during March 5 – 6. He did not have any symptoms then and travelled back to Singapore on March 6.

3) As a precautionary measure, Grab has started conducting detailed contact tracing with all employees and other parties that the infected employee may have come into contact with. All employees who had contacted the infected employee have already had a check-up in hospital and been asked to self-quarantine for 14 days. They have also been reminded to stay home and seek medical attention should they feel unwell.

4) Grab Thailand's UBC2 office has been closed immediately for deep cleaning and disinfecting for 5 working days, during March 9 – 13. Grab employees who are working in the affected office will work from home in the meantime. This has no impact to Grab Driver Center in Thanapoom Tower. The Center still operates as normal.

5) Grab Thailand has continued providing its everyday services as normal, including on-demand transport services, food, package, grocery delivery services, mobile payments and financial services.

The health and wellbeing of our staff are a top priority for us. Since the first confirmed Covid19 case in Thailand, Grab has put in place precautionary measures at all our premises across the region and raised our level of preparedness in accordance with guidelines from the local authorities. These include:

• Temperature screening at all our offices

• Higher frequency in the cleaning and disinfection of our premises

• Making available hand sanitisers at our premises

• Mandatory travel declaration for employees and requiring visitors to sign a health and travel history declaration forms prior to entering our premises

• Providing face masks to all front-line colleagues

"We have also put in place business continuity plans (BCP) to enable the organisation to continue our critical activities and minimise impact to operations. Grab will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure that the health and well-being of our employees, customers and partners is safeguarded," it said.
