Age Restrictions for Children Residing in Thailand on Father's O-A Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I was talking with some ex-pat friends with a large family today who decided not to apply for the non O-A retirement visa because they heard from someone that after their kids turn 16 they can no longer ride on their father's retirement visa but have to get their own (student) visa to remain with their parents in the country. Does anyone else know if this is true? I was under the impression it was 18 years old. I just went through all the hoops to get a new O-A visa from a Thai Consulate in America (with all the new requirements ???? ) and would hate to have to find another way to stay in the LoS because my kids will be too old to continue riding on my visa next year. ????

It is the age of 20.

"(4) In the case of children, adopted children, or spouse’s children, said children, adopted children,
or spouse’s children must not be married, must live with the alien as part of the family, and must not
be over 20 years of age"
