Are you asking about apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) application or a one year extension of stay based upon retirement?

For a visa application the money only has to be in the bank on the date you apply.

For the one year extension it has to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply and the extension is granted on the same day your apply.

Sorry mate but that is not the information I received at the Chonburi office for a 90-day non-immigrant Visa category O application.

I was told by 2 different IO that it needs to be in for 60 days. But I have not made my application yet. So I am simply repeating what I have been told there. But I would be extremely happy to be proven wrong somehow.

That is their requirement. All other offices only want it be in a bank of the day you apply.

Yes thanks, I certainly wasn't questioning you but as the OP had not mentioned which office he was applying, I thought I should share my experience.

The info you got is wrong. No seasoning when applying (converting) for a 90 days Non-immigrant O Visa at Jomtien Immigration. But 2 months in the bank prior to the day of application when extending the stay 1 year.
