You couldn’t be further from the truth. Am a very outgoing person and folks including “decent women” as you put it, who are also socially open inherently pick up on sight and often initiate conversations. Normal socially functioning folks can spot uptight people and don’t engage. Good grief…you sure don’t get out much. If someone knows the language then they’ll certainly be more open to initiating, though if someone doesn’t know the language and spots an uptight pent up grump staring at them, then sure they’ll shy away including myself, who wants to weird out with a creep? This is why they’re scared of you, it’s the energy you put out, we all can see it when you’re walking down the street. Basically, human behavior is the same everywhere in world, your social norms of being taught to look away statement doesn’t apply in this context, it’s silly and naive quite frankly.
