Does my name need to be in the tabien baan?

Featured Replies

As the headlines says, to apply for a non o based on marriage, or enough wife name is in the book?

No. Your wife will vouch for you as the 'housemaster' when you extend or renew.

Your name cannot be in a blue tambien ban. All that is needed is copy of you wife's house book registry.

That's not entirely true, my name was on the first page of the wife's Tabian ban as being the owner of the condo

But it didn't appear on the page where her name was

I never had one but I believe a farang can have a yellow book that shows you live at that address

Easy enough to get the Yellow Book and then it's a done deal! ????

I doubt that very much. The house registration book has absolutely nothing to do with the ownership of the dwelling for which the book is issued.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Only if you are PR you can have your name in it.

Doubt as much as you like my name was on it written in Thai (front page just inside the cover) 2 pages after, was the wife's name registered as living there just like wife's name appeared in the tabian ban for the wife's house (she owned but didn't live in)

Do you have a mortgage on the house?

My name is in the blue book as the father of my son who name is in the same blue book

You have your name registered in a blue or yellow book only when you have a full page for your personal details (name, name of the parents, date of birth, ID number, nationality...). Sometimes foreigners are happy to say that they have their name in a blue book when in fact it's only on the first page where it says "name of the house". But "name of the house" doesn't mean the name of the owner, it's just the name given to the house like you could name it "The Cottage". It doesn't have any legal meaning, even if it's a person's name you can sell the house without having to change the name of the house.

In the context of being the father of the child registered as a resident in the blue house registration book, your own name is there only partially, ie only your forname(s), aka as first name(s). Your nationality is also shown.

This is not a record of you being registered as resident at that address.

Your name  is printed together with ID Card number etc. on page 2. You can only have this if you are Thai National or Permanent Resident , in that case it also states in your Passport Immigrant and the has legal value.....
