Just crossed over back to Thailand at Nong Khai. Lines were very long at Thai immigration.    HIGHLY recommend hiring a private car. They will approach you after you pass thru Laos immigrati

  • Not that misleading if you include the Vietnam crossings. Hopefully most people will read my post that is the first one.

Not that many for Thailand. About all of them are for Vietnam.

"Those on the Laos-Thai border consist of Namheuang and Nam Ngeun checkpoints in Sayaboury province, and Na Pao checkpoint in Khammuan, as well as Savannakhet International Airport."

Savannakhet airport was about closed already since they stopped issuing visas on arrival.

The only major crossing is the crossing in Nakhon Phanom.

Three are small and little used crossings in Nan, Phayao and Utradit.

I'm in the Nakhom Phanom area. I was going to use the friendship bridge 2 crossing.

It's closed. Do you know which border crossing reasonably nearby is still open?

Thanks

Do you have a link to one.

I researched it and the article posted indicates it is closed. Had do a search or 2 to confirm.

It is actually bridge number 3. Savannakhet is number 2.

They do not define in that article but it could be only the crossings by boats and ferry there.

Yes since you are entering Myanmar there not Laos that this topic is about.

Just did a border run on Sunday. I was fearing the borders closing any day now. I did Nong Khai it was the most dead I've seen it.

ok good, looking for alternatives to lao. looks like cambodia/myanmar are fine at this point

So, confused (and in Vientiane)... is the border to enter Thailand at Nong Khai closed?!?

Its currently still open, at least the article didnt name that. As of this Sunday it was all good(I'm USA).

My guess is it could be closed any day now so if you're looking to do a run I'd get there.

No

Only a few crossing are closed for entry to Laos.

So if I go to the Nong Khai border with Laos and come back same day to get my extension will you need a health certificate and an app on your phone.

They just closed down few small land crossing from Thailand and one airport that has very few international flights.

Most of the closing are from Vietnam to Laos.

I think they may be closing down those few little used crossings so they can free up people to man the busier ones.

'By' ferry.

Yes, easy to make a typo error isn't it.

My visa doesn't expire until March 28th.
By that time maybe even the Mukdahan border will be closed..
I don't know.
Maybe go back to Pattaya and do a Cambodia mini bus visa run?

Fixed now. May of been a spell check glitch.

They did not close them as a restriction on people entering the country as I wrote before.

Check for travel restrictions here. https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/international-travel-document-news/1580226297.htm

Check Cambodia.

Myanmar is good at this time.
