The Ministry of Industry has enhanced its Covid-19 measures by allowing officials to work on shifts or work from home, starting from Monday (March 23).

Suriya Jungrungreangkit, Minister of Industry said he had instructed department heads to re- arrange work shifts to lessen the number of people in the offices at a time, or letting staff work from the safety of their homes.

“We have ordered all departments to apply information technology, such as video conferencing, video call, and using Line application or email in providing service to the public, starting from March 23,” he said.

He said ministry officers have been following prevention guidelines, such as cleaning hands with sanitising gel, taking temperature check, and using elevators not more than six people at a time.

“We have been disinfecting offices while hand sanitisers are provided on all floors," he said.

“Also, we have asked industrial plants to comply with Covid-19 prevention and surveillance measures.”

He added that although the ministry would adjust the work process, it will be able to maintain its standard of performance, while helping to contain spread of the virus.

Prior to retiring in 2015, working from home was the norm, i.e. 90% of the staff worked from home, only time we went to the office was when the Xmas BBQ was on, free food & pi$$ and catching up with known staff and meeting new staff members.

They called it work/home/life balance, great idea, was great working 14-16 hours a day, as they got rid of our personal secretary's, and handed us tablets, no more dictaphones, scanning took over faxing and uploading of photos took over posting them, work/home life balance, yeh right, but that is how it was done, maybe this guy is onto something, I am assuming they might be asking if any staff want voluntary redundancies and also applying KPI's, ooops forgot where I was ???? :coffee1:

The Mrs. works in the Ministry of Industry and is quite happy with new arrangement. Her office will alternate between two day and three day work weeks.  This week it's Tuesday and Thursday and next Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Although the other BS about hand sanitizer, thorough cleaning she says isn't true. They havent done a deep clean of her building yet.

Other buildings in the same complex have had a worker get the virus. Only that bulding was shut down.  The others were left open.  This despite all the workers in the complex sharing the same cafeteria, 7-11, coffee shops, etc.
