AstraPool chlorine feeder.

I have a AstraPool chlorine feeder, and the drain release plug was starting to leak (yes it does also look as if there is a crack in white plastic just behind this black plug):

 

Whilst repairing a pipe leak, the Thai workmen decided to replace this part.
Which of the following do you think they complied with:

Notifying me of this fault
Just replacing the original washer on this black plug

No not a bit of it, instead installing their own solution:

 

 

Please note just above the white plumbers sealing tape tape - first image, you can see where the water discharged, making quite an impressive fountain all over the pump room.

A happy ending, as when I went to see if I had the same size washer, blow me down, but I had a completely new plug and washer from 14 years ago.
