April 3, 20206 yr Travellers register for special flights back to France By THE NATION Several French tourists went to Suvarnabhumi Airport on Friday (April 3) to confirm their registration for flights chartered by the French government to take them back home. Most international flights have been cancelled as part of the government’s efforts to tackle the Covid-19 contagion, which has left many travellers stranded in Thailand. The French embassy had previously given travellers the option of registering online for the charter flights, but said those who had registered needed to show up at the airport to confirm their names or the names of their family members in person for the special Qatar Airways flights on Friday and Saturday (April 4). The Bangkok-Doha-Paris flights can accommodate up to 517 passengers each and will take off at 9.30pm on Friday and 11.30pm on Saturday. April 4, 20206 yr I know people want to go home, but is it really worth the risk, going on a packed plane, then going back to europe where covid19 is rife. Probably best to stay put, unless money has run dry which im suspecting in most cases.
