Australians stranded in Cambodia may find that there is a strong possibility of boarding a flight out of Cambodia by this week.

There are an estimated 300 Australians in Cambodia who are reportedly desperate to get back home to Australia but have been stranded due to the scarcity of international flights due to bans and lockdowns in various countries. Khmer Times has reliably learnt that the Australian Embassy has been working closely with an Asean country to arrange a flight which will be a slot on which that country’s airline normally flies to before the lock down and flights cancellations.

The flight is expected to take place by this week, probably this weekend as the two embassies and airline find a workable solution. The costs for this flight is to be borne by the Australians themselves. Peter Gillard, a 26-year-old pilot, says others in a Facebook group called ‘Aussies attempting to Leave Cambodia’ include a family of nine – with a child with autism who needs more medication – and a family travelling with elderly parents, according to SBS News.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French
