Video: No mask? OK, give me 20 press-ups!

MCOT reported that a village in Chonburi had instigated unusual measures to make sure all inhabitants were wearing face masks.

Offenders sneaking out to the local store around curfew time were stopped and told to do ten or twenty press-ups as a punishment if they were young men.

Older offenders were allowed to perform some jumping jacks.

This was the idea of Phu Yai Ban Phairach in the village of Ban Hua Krok in Muang district.

Phairach and ten other local officials have set up their own village protection network and have masks to hand out to people not wearing them.

Stupid! There are people who have health conditions and being forced to do exercise in this climate (and in April) could be dangerous. Especially if 'forced' by Phu Yai Ban Phairach or one of his mob.

If they behave like children - they get treated like children.

This chap needed to feel the caress of the cat,the cat 'o' nine tails.

wonder how many push ups those giving the orders can do ??

Such utterly asinine TV reporting, no wonder I dumped Thai TV channels and switched to IPTV years ago.

Seems like a good idea to me, the offenders will most likely not have the cash to pay a fine so punish them on the spot. Then send them home.

Right on, b'wana. Let's all look for someone to bully.

Sneaking out to buy beer and cigarettes more likely. These are not rubber tappers, so fine them. Where are the police?
