Pattaya: Strongarm mayor gives City Hall a long weekend, every weekend!

 

 

Pattaya's strongarm mayor Sontaya Khunpluem has announced that he is giving City Hall every Friday off from now until further notice. 

 

This is part of battling the coronavirus and according to the guidelines laid out by the government about limiting work during the pandemic. 

 

Council workers directly involved in the Covid-19 response as well as contractors and subcontractors are exempted from the order and will continue to work on Fridays.

Lazy civil servants,who would have thought,mind scrolling through your phone for most of the day would be tiring.

Yup, give officials more time off during an unprecedented pandemic and tell people to rest easy.

The contractors do all the real work anyway, and it makes little difference if the bigwig officials are working or playing.

They seem to have done (most of ) the road construction they had planned..south Pattaya road could still do with a nice new surface and the drain covers levelled with the road.

There is also the  ongoing question about the abandoned building which can be seen in the photo above..been going on for years now.

 

Quite a few business seem to be using the down time  for renovation  and/or remodelling.

Khunpluems, the gift that keeps giving.

   Umm.  It's not 'limiting work during the pandemic', bud.  It's limiting work at the office in close quarters with other workers during the pandemic.  Viva la difference.  You're still suppose to be putting in the same hours, only working from home.   By the by, let's be using this time to re-think public offices like the Land Office so they can function but still keep safe social distance both for the workers and the customers.  

Why Friday....? A long weekend for them to get out and about and visit friends and relatives?

Except Fridays and weekends. 

No one will notice.  Civil servants here are neither civil nor servants of the public.  Like the police, who also don't work weekends, they will only do their jobs if there's a little something extra in it for them.
