Daily News reported that a lone armed robber came off the street out of torrential rain and robbed the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Chalerm Prakiat branch, in Prawet district of south eastern Bangkok yesterday.

The man in a sky blue, cap, face mask, black shirt, jeans and trainers went up to Counter #1 and told a staff member to get on the floor.

He was brandishing a gun.

He then helped himself to 106,000 baht before disappearing on a Honda Click motorcycle.

The incident happened just a little way down Chalerm Prakiat Soi 13.

Yes. It's time for 3-4 heavily armed guards at all bank branches country wide, then gold shops, supermarkets and 7-eleven. We haven't seen anything yet.

Expats and the few remaining tourists here, leave all valuables at home.

It is therefore high time that the government throws money helicopter out the window.

Maybe time for an upgrade! Do you think he'll get a Honda Scoopy?

I don't think it will ever happen in Thailand;

there is generally a "guard" in uniform who is mainly there to open the door for us by making a vague military salute.
and then it would cost too much to the banks and the police would especially not want private guards to do their non-work by showing the population how bad it (the police) is useless.

This is not the time to be making jokes about the often incompetent and usually inept police...but if it's a really funny joke, go ahead!

The Honda Click strikes again!

If you in Pattaya now, take a extra look inside Big C Extra, 2nd floor near the bank branches. Plain clothes security men added since 2 weeks ago

Not this far.

For now.

Me in Sakon Nakhon now, for sure !

Just a short time ago, we weren't even allowed in banks wearing a cap, presumably so we could be identifiable on the security cameras. Now we're not allowed in without a  mask. I wondered when the bad guys were going to take advantage.

Times are getting hard for many, expect a lot more crime figures soon.

I never thought I would be able to walk in to a bank wearing a mask and ask for cash

I was just talking about how this will probably happen quite more often now that it’s becoming normal for everyone to cover their faces even inside banks!!! If I went everywhere every day with a mask, sunglasses and a hat on it would eventually make tracking my movements on surveillance videos very difficult if not impossible if you know what you’re doing.

They’ll probably never catch him either unless someone else identifies him. When your face is covered up all the time it’s kind a hard to identify them on video. That’s why this is not a new normal at all it really is a new abnormal.

And so it begins!  Expect many more crimes as people strive to survive in a country with 25% unemployment and no real social safety net!

And wear it’s the norm to cover your face in public making surveillance cameras not very helpful.
