Number of police checkpoints in Bangkok reduced

The Metropolitan Police Bureau on Tuesday (April 21) said it will reduce the number of screening checkpoints in Bangkok from 89 to 52 during the night curfew, effective from April 21 until further notice.

 

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha had ordered a nationwide curfew from 10pm to 4am from April 3 in a more stringent move to curb new Covid-19 infections.

 

Police checkpoints have been set up since then throughout Bangkok to enforce the curfew and prevent crimes at night.

 

 

The 52 checkpoints that will remain effective are:

 

- In front of the Chinese Embassy

 

- Pracha Songkro Road Soi 5-7

 

- Banglamphu intersection

 

- In front of Yothin Burana School

 

- Exit of Phaholyothin Expressway

 

- In front of The SC Place, Ratchadapisek Road

 

- Soi Krungthep-Nonthaburi 26

 

- Soi Lat Phrao 15

 

- Prasert Manukit Road

 

- BTS Morchit Station

 

- King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok

 

- King Kaew intersection

 

- Soi Hathairat 34/1

I don't think announcing the reduction and which checkpoints will remain is a particularly brilliant move. Why not end the curfew outright if you're unwilling to police it?

So!! Just went through a police check. Let me say I’ve driven up and down from KK-HH many time over the last 4 months. I’ve been asked to do a breath test, pee into a cup and just answer a couple questions. Today I was told I must wear my mask while I’m driving!!

now I thought about this for a bit. Are they afraid if I sneezed the spit would go through the vents ( against the AC flow) run the system and fly out the car and hit part of my truck?! Then someone would have to run there hand down the side of my truck and insert there fingers into there mouth? Do I have this correct? 
anybody out there able to give me a real reason why they insisted I wear it inside my vehicle? Wanted me to sign a price of paper (didn’t of course) and said I was up for a 20k fine if I was not wearing.

This time as every time I rolled the window down. They seen I was not wearing and pulled me in. That’s when they told me to wear in truck at all times.
