Massive fire engulfs the building at Al Nahda.//Gulf Today

 

A massive fire broke out at a residential apartment in Al Nahda, Sharjah, on Tuesday.

 

The Sharjah Civil Defence teams are at the site to control the fire in a residential apartment in Al Nahda.

 

The building has been evacuated. Civil Defence teams are securing the area to stop the fire from spreading to other building.

 

Fire tenders from several areas are taking part in the dousing of the blaze.

 

The fire happened in the highrise in Al Nahda.

Any fatalities?

Always shocks me when I see hi-rises such as this one burn so intensely.  I assume they are 90% concrete and steel. What is it that feeds such an inferno?
