Big jump in number of train passengers

The number of passengers using rail transport increased this week from 528,000 on Monday (May 25) to 578,000 on Friday (May 26), the Department of Rail Transport informed.

 

 

The director-general of the department, Sorapong Paitoonpong, estimated that the number of passengers would increase after the third phase of lockdown relaxation begins next Monday (June 1).

 

He said the rail transportation system was capable of managing human density. They have arranged for social distancing in the trains, and developed a precise themal scan system.
