Sriracha Tiger Zoo in Chonburi province reopens its door to visitors after being closed for more than two months due to the lockdown.

The zoo posted on its Facebook page on Friday (June 12) that entry will be free for Thai and foreign tourists until June 30. In line with the third phase of easing of lockdown measures, the government had announced on June 1 that zoos could reopen provided visitors made reservations beforehand.

Earlier on Friday, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Varawut Silpa-archa had announced that six zoos nationwide will waive entry fee from June 15-30 to boost tourism. They are: Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi as well as those in Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Songkhla, Khon Kaen and Ubon Ratchathani.

Sriracha Tiger Zoo said it will adhere to measures suggested by Ministry of Public Health to prevent the spread of Covid-19, such as setting up thermal scanning checkpoints and disinfecting tunnels at all entrances, providing alcohol hand gel dispensers and limiting the number of visitors per zone. “For example, tiger zone will permit 410 visitors per round, 320 in the elephant zone and 370 visitors in the crocodile zone,” it added.

Visitors must wear face mask while in the zoo areas and must check-in and out with ThaiChana app.

LOL. We're all tourists! Doesn't matter how long you have lived here they all look at us as nothing but tourists. Even if you work here they still view you as a tourist
