Members of Thailand’s ruling Palang Pracharat party will go to Government House on Tuesday to invite Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan to become the new party leader, replacing Mr. Uttama Savanayana.

The acting executive board met on Friday and agreed to hold the general assembly of the party on June 27th, to elect a new executive board, after the automatic disbanding of the original board when 18 members quit on 1st.

The Government’s chief whip, Mr. Wirat Rattanaseth, said that the meeting today (Friday) went smoothly with former party leader Mr. Uttama and former secretary-general Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong also present.

morals and intelligence must be optional requirements

They will be offering him 12 new high end watches and pinky rings, one for each month.  This way they can have him also steer sum of that pork from the Government back into the party.  God forbid he does not need any more pork.  He reminds me of Porky Pig.....

There will be lots of tissues on hand, ready to hand out to them brown nose plonkers.

Wow! What a surprise! I'm shocked!

You’d have thought after he was caught with all those stolen watches that he’d just slowly disappear. But nope! This regime has zero shame and clearly doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

To have this man as the head of the leading political party just shows that the regime aren’t even playing along with the whole ‘politics’ thing anymore. They’re simply ruling as an autocracy.

What stolen watches?  He was cleared of any wrong doing by the fine legal and morally pure system of corruption investigation and cleared of not reporting assets, which it took them a very long time to determine they were just borrowed.  He must also borrow his friends wives when needed to be his arm candy to match the rngs and watches he wears.  Porky does need a petunia around....

Remember it's not what you know but who your friends are........LOL

invitation accepted !!

Couldn't have invited a more apt specimen. He represents the ruling party perfectly in all aspects.

So much of a pantomime, everyone knew the plot and the outcome. Why did they bother going through the charade and just appoint him in the first place?

Prawit to be invited to receive head.

Palang Pracharat party on Tuesday.

As long as it's only Tuesday....he can't stuff too much up then!

Not required or necessary for this Thai government.

A man who on many occasions has been photographed sleeping during government debates is now taking over the party. Tragic.

It's not so much who you know, or what you know.

It's more what you know about who you know.

The party can keep the idiot under better scrutiny as leader....

Yes whilst looking for a candidate we could have told Prayut, he's behind you.

It will be just like  a Italian wedding.

All the invited guests to bring envelopes full of cash.

Will they be waking him up first?

Thainess, it has to be a drama!!

Orchestrated a month ago if you read some sources ????

Prayut lacks a mandate from the people since he did not run for election. Also, he is the sole PM candidate nominated by Phalang Pracharat, which failed to win a majority of seats in the March election and thereby has little in the way of legitimacy to form a government. If he is elected today, Prayut’s administration will be one of the most unstable in recent history.
