First time extending Non O A retired without the Embassy supplied income letter, and having to buy the mandatory insurance.

My monthly transfers via TransferWise, all go into Bangkok Bank. On Friday I went to the Silom main office for the credit advises. If you want them the same day you will have to wait an hour or so. 12 pages. Cost 600 baht.

On Monday, went to CW. Arrived 9am..20 numbers ahead of me.

I went to the Bkk bank downstairs and got a letter stating the account is mine?? 100 baht. Made a copy of the last page of the updated bank book.

I had bought the LMG insurance the week before. 200K deducible. Cost me 7,700.

They send you a letter via email, to take to Immigration.

One thing to note. The insurance starts at midnight on the date you choose. So if you’re going to Immigration on the 13th…or so…you can ask that the coverage starts on that day. Gives you one year from that date. 

When my number was called, I handed the IO my stack of papers. Check, check, check then stamp. Out the door in 15 minutes.. more or less.

I was very interested in how they handled the date/time of your insurance. I will be applying for another 1 year extension In November and I will be using my insurance coverage for the first time and I have to synchronize my Pacific Cross policy with my extension dates.

Hi John, Could you please share a little more info about your LMG insurance? I'm paying 23K with 327K deductible with LMG/April. My coverage is 16.375M.
