#2pricethailand is getting bigger on Twitter and Facebook, with people posting pictures of dual pricing signs multiple times a day, trying to raise awareness on the issue and warning tourists about places that have dual pricing policies.

 

Many places have officially removed their dual pricing during the last few days, not sure if it was a coincidence or if it's the fear of bad publicity.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo. Thai price 75 baht until the 30th of September. Foreigner price 250 baht.

Why, when there are no short term foreign tourists in the country?

Aquarium at Bang Saen University is 3 times price for Farang

It would make sense to rename those so it reads:

 

Long hair => $44.00

Short hair => $29.50

Karens => $79.99

 

Or something along those lines. I guess that's where that came from originally.

If you want to pay the same price for a haircut as men do , get yourself a five minute grade two at the sides and a grade three on top .

If only female pattern baldness was as common as male pattern baldness. Then you might get a cheaper cut.

yep racism is endemic in thailand but perhaps we can be successful in small ways good luck.

All for exposing the 2 pricing system in Thailand, but feel that Barrow has chosen the wrong moment to muster expat anger at the Thai govt; so many of us are hoping for a visa amnesty extension and upsetting the Pooh Yai in BKK ain’t helping. Barrow can be informative of what’s going down etc, but can be a bit of a dolt sometimes, bless him.

Anyway I avoid all NP's with double prices for many years now.

I think public awareness of the two pricing system is very good and those doing so should be exposed and shamed. I also feel that if you see equal pricing we should post those pictures as well to advertise the good people so that we can patronize their business instead.

I think all social media has a bigger impact now because people are at home with spare time.  They are reading about possible  travel destinations fot the future and so these social statements about the bad things in  Thailand really hurt!!  Listen to me  Thai government

Simple. If the price is too high say thank you and leave. No need to argue and look cheap and foolish. We all need to handle this in a logical sane manner. Showing anger is considered bad manners.

My last instance of this made me absolutely livid.

 

 

I was in Europe and went to the cinema on a Saturday evening. 

 

My brother went to watch the same movie, in the same cinema, but at Wednesday lunchtime. 

 

I paid 3 times the price!!! Simply because of what day I was available! 

 

I was furious. 

I had a win at Nong Nooch in Pattaya this week. I got in free and my thai girlfriend paid 250 baht. Dual pricing? Even the guard at the gate laughed saying it was a first in Thailand.

Agreed but take a photograph of the dual price sign and tell Tripadvisor as well as the other travel sites. Public loss of face does work here.
