Irish Nationals

Featured Replies

Last week the Irish embassy emailed about July 31 visa extension and erroneously mentioned that there is a seven day grace period.

afaik the seven day grace period is for border pass holders which one assumes excludes holders of an Irish passport.

I'm posting in case someone read the email and assumed that there is a seven day grace period.

If I am wrong irt the 'grace' period, I'd appreciate the correction.

'The Visa Extension Programme (LINK) currently expires on the 31st of July. The Visa Extension Programme allows for a 7 day grace period after the expiry date of 31 July for foreigners to depart from the Kingdom of Thailand. The Government of Thailand have so far given no indication of a further extension of the Programme beyond the end of July.'

There is no grace period for anybody.

For those from neighboring countries with a border pass they have 7 days to leave after the border crossings open.

@ubonjoe Yeah, I have asked the embassy to issue a 'clarification' but they are slow to do so, expressing an 'Apologies if that provision does not apply to your particular case',  but choosing to ignore the actual issue.

Hopefully the posting helps anyone who received the email and .... grace period.
