Elite Visa Before Sept 26?

Featured Replies

I am considering the Elite visa. Currently in Thailand on amnesty with visa exempt stamp. Has anyone got an Elite Visa during the amnesty and how fast it was processed? I'm wondering if I can wait until close to September 26 or if I need to apply ASAP

I am from Austria and I got it done last year. The approval process took 5 weeks and then an additional week to set the appointment to get the visa. In my opinion you should apply ASAP if you want to get it done before 26th September. I heard from people waiting over 2 months to get approved.

you kind of need to leave the country for the stamp to be put into your passport...

waiting was 30 days, maybe more now

totally NOT worth it ...

elite will have to do 14 days also and were one of the last classes to be able to get in, as you are nothing (as us) as an overpaid service for tourists

Contact Thailand Elite to determine if you have to leave the country.  They can cancel some existing visas and not others.  I would not delay as it could take more time than usual.

The Elite PE visa can put put into a passport at certain immigration offices.

Only if on a long stay extension of stay that immigration cannot cancel would require leaving and re-entering the country to get the visa.

Not true. An acquaintance received her Elite visa at Chang Wattana. She never had to leave the country and re-enter.

I just had the Elite Visa processed and stamped in mid July.

Some notes

 - Approval time (back in June) was two weeks or less.

 - Getting an appointment took two weeks. They are currently quite busy.

 - They required a copy of the TM30 report.

- They were fully aware that my current Retirement extension was expiring.

 - The Visa can only be processed at  certain airports (on arrival), or at the Bangkok Immigration. Due to Corona, I begged them to allow processing in Kon Kaen or with a courier.  No dice.

 - Be sure to clarify what building you report to - I had to take a last minute taxi run. I seem to remember "Building - Division B".

 - Appointment at the Immigration was about 90 minutes in total. That included an overdue 90 day report, which they processed after first claiming I'd have to do this at my local Immigration office in Issarn.

 - The staff was generally very responsive. I had a lot of questions during the process. The Rep who met me at Immigration was also on the ball.

 - At processing, was stamped in for a full year from the issue date.

Hi there, I am also looking for a visa solution, are we sure to be allowed with an elite visa ? please help me.

If you are here in the country it will not a problem to apply for one and then stay here as well.

If outside the country I am not sure they will allow those with new application for it to enter the country.

It does not appear on the list yet on a embassy website I checked earlier. But it is going to be on the next list of those that can enter with a certificate of entry and quarantine after arrival.
