Justified or animal cruelty? Thai dog owner fixes an oil container around puppy's neck

The owner of a one year old male dog in Krabi got fed up with her puppy's misbehaviour.

"Jao Nin" was perpetually digging up plants and chasing motorcyclists.

So she came up with the idea of hanging an empty plastic oil container around his neck.

It has done the trick and the bad behaviour is abating.

Thai media 77kaoded said it was a brilliant idea.

Though some might think that such a practice was hurtful or even animal abuse.

Jao Nin's owner Patcharee Rakwong, 45, doesn't think so and believes that the ends justify the means.

Maybe they should do the same with misbehaving Thais. But not an empty container.

If it works it's a good idea - better than a dead pet or motorcyclist.

They do in the prisons

Called Shackles and Leg Irons

Heavy Chains around the Wrists and another set round the Ankles, and usually joined together.

As for the Dogs, its a shame that more Thai " Dog Owners " do not control their Dogs in the same manner.

Maybe there would be less scared kids and maimed people due to the frequent attacks.

That looks like it would be very effective training mechanism and I see nothing cruel about it at all. Just makes it awkward for the dog to dig or chase.

It's a crazy idea, training works better and lasts a lifetime... but it means the dogs owner has to get off their <deleted> and do something with the dog instead of sitting around while the dog gets up to mischief to amuse itself.

I guarantee when you take the plastic container off the dog will go back to it's old habits.

Chasing motorcyclist in their house and garden??? Strange... oooh wait, the owners just let the dog out on the streets the whole day because they liked having a cute puppy but now found out that when you dont train your dog you end up with....  uhm... an untrained dog that just does whatever it wants.

Ha ha , And a wooden cross/dead chook /anything.

They do that here al the time, stops them from jumping up at people and chasing things and motor bikes.

It doesn't hurt the dogs. Better then Chain em up 24/7.  :jap:

Yes, you got that in One .

Go out the gate and there's 10/20 dogs running around in the village.

There's a lot more when there's a Bitch in season ,there's always one .

Than fighting Howling 24/7 ..... Happy days.....

If and when tourists are allowed in maybe cater to the hunters like tRump Jr.     Soi dog hunting trips.

Is the dog's name Juggie?

Looks like a pretty cool dog ... if it was trained.  If this lady has a young son on a motorbike, I hope she ties a jug to his neck as well.
