Daily News reported that more than 1,000 Grab Bike riders protested outside Grab Thailand's head office on New Phetchaburi Road in Bangkok yesterday.

They had five demands related to what they see as unfair work practices.

Makkasan police and security at the Thanaphum Building erected barriers to keep the protesters out.

Their demands are about dividing up the city and surrounding provinces, requirements to buy "Grab Express" bags, changes to remuneration arrangements that have been reduced, accident insurance cover and unjust division of labor practices.

Company executives emerged and agreed to address the demands within the next 7-15 days and meet with representatives of the bikers.

This was met with applause and cheers and the crowd dispersed.

The latest protest follows a similar one from Grab riders in Pattaya, notes Thaivisa.

in pattaya they have been working and earning well these last 7 months while others in the city are starving

you won't see any grab drivers amongst the 1000's lining up for food handouts

Yeah during the height of the  lockdown....on my once weekly trip to the Bug-C, dozens of GraB drivers queued up at every restaurant filling delivery requests. But the taxi part of the  business not so good.

exactly, good of you to defend capitalism

How else would they make fortunes without charging 30%+ and shafting the workers, works for all the global companies like Amazon, gives them plenty of spare cash to send to the BLM commie folks ????

No organisers arrested for breaking the emergency decree about having a crowd gather and risking the spread of covid...
