The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) director-general expressed disagreement over the prosecutor’s decision to drop charges against those accused in the murder of Karen rights activist Porlajee “Billy” Rakchongcharoen.

DSI boss Pol Lt-Colonel Korrawat Panprapakorn said yesterday (August 11) that he had tasked an investigation team to file dossiers in the case and had sent a letter to the attorney-general.

Korrawat said the prosecutor’s decision to drop the charges contradicted DSI evidence. He wanted the attorney-general to consider the dossiers instead.

Billy disappeared in April 2014 after a reported conflict with Kaeng Krachan National Park officials. Billy had helped Karen people sue officials after they were evicted from their homes.

The DSI maintains that former park chief Chaiwat Limlikit-aksorn and three others accused in the death of Billy should have been charged.

And no prize for guessing which certain individual was among those "officials" sued.

That's right, it was "former" park chief Chaiwat Limlikit-aksorn... who of course was not yet a "former" at the time the charges were filed.

Seems that they need a distraction from the Boss saga. No Boss news in this email.....but we have Billy for people to rail against injustice. Have newspapers been asked to cut back on Boss news?

Another case of a protected species walking around with impunity.

How about the 2 Burmese lads on "death row" and re-open the Koh Tao murder investigation???

Here we go-Billy had darker skin, and wasn’t rich
