Been discussed before but iam still confused.I've pretty much decided on either St.Andrews or Burapha.Still a bit on the expensive side but much more reasonably than say Regents.Any opinions on either of the 2 or infact any others which any of you have experiance with and you think better.English has to be first language.

Thanks.

My 3 year old has just finished her first week at St.Andrews and absolutely loves it. Her first day of school (has never been to play groups, etc) on Monday saw her in tears.... when it was time to leave LOL.

She is in nursery and her teachers are wonderful, and next term will go into kindergarten. At the moment she goes 3 days a week as we weren't sure how she would handle being away from us, but we have no doubts about when she goes 5 days next term. One thing I love is that the children have a book that they bring home with them at the end of the day, which has notes from the teacher to let you know how they are doing, if they need anything, etc and that the parents are updated on their child's progress.

I also like that the children physical activities are an important part of the curriculum. Yesterday was a big day for our girl as she had swimming (which she absolutely loves) and she also had her first ever ride on a pony yesterday. They have stables and horseriding at the school as part of the extra-curricular program and Angel will start her official lessons next friday.

You didn't mention the age of your child but when we were looking to start Angel in school, they let Angel join the class to see how she would be (and we could also stay to see how they do things) and she had the best time with the other children and things they were doing. I recommend that if you are unsure of where to send your child to come down and meet the staff and have a look around at St. Andrews to see how you and your child feel. And all the students are taught in English too.

Good luck :o

Many thanks

So for a young kid its around

50k "get in the door" aka "bribe" money

84k * 3 for school

18k * 3 for learning english (if required)

3k * 3 for food (fair deal on this one !)

18k * 3 for transport

So for a year it is 50+(84*3)+(18*3)+(3*3)+(18*3) = Bt419,000 in year one and he's not even boarding !

I think I'll open a school. teachers only get 20k per month or something don't they and if people are prepared to chuck out half a million on a mid range school then I'll be quids in.

Joking aside, that is far steeper than I thought. I suppose a few hundred thousand was in my head but I don't have any basis upon which to back up that figure.

Still thanks though

The prices are very high, how about Chiang Mai ? are the prices for international schools cheaper up there?
