After reading the various postings on this site and making an application with lots of supporting documentation I'm pleased to say the whole process went smoothly. She applied for the visa on Monday morning and picked up her passport yesterday afternoon. She will be flying to Manchester on Tuesday 8th to join me and we are both so happy.

I'd like to thank the scouser and all others who have made numerous factual postings on this subject. I don't think I could have done all this without the excellent advice given.
