The awning of an apartment in Bangkok’s Srinakarin area collapsed early on Monday (September 14), but no one was injured.

The 21.5-metre-long awning collapsed from a first-floor apartment of this nine-storey building, obstructed residents from entering or leaving the building.

Pichet Kammakreu, a resident aged 49, said that he heard a loud noise at around 5.30am. When he checked, he found the awning had collapsing.

The damage in the awning had reportedly been brought to the attention of the apartment building administrator, but no action had been taken.

No injury was reported, but officials are investigating the incident.

Thai logic....it's always best just to leave it till it falls down

then reluctantly do something about it.

Very lucky no one hurt.
