The woman who attacked a fellow passenger for occupying a seat ahead of her was arrested on Wednesday (September 16) over charges of physical assault and insulting another person.

On Monday, a woman filed a report at Phya Thai Police Station that a passenger on the van she had taken from Future Park Rangsit to Victory Monument at about 5pm had attacked her and pulled her hair.

She recounted that a woman dressed in grey got into the van and demanded that she vacate her seat. However, the victim refused to move and put her bag on the vacant seat next to her saying she did not want it to block other passengers.

Upon arriving at the destination, the woman grabbed the victim by her hair and pulled her down the escalator while shouting insults. The incident was recorded by the security camera.

The assailant faces up to two years in prison and a fine of no more than Bt40,000 for the charge of physical assault and up to a month in jail and no more than Bt10,000 in fines for insulting another person.

Seemed like a good idea at the time... now though?

A wai and a 500 bath fine will sort it out.

The bitch NOT getting my seat  ????

Am I understanding this correctly that the"victim"also put her bag on the seat next to her in an attempt to stop the lady in grey from sitting next to her. If that is the case maybe she deserved a clout.

They do not mention it here but the wife says she also has to pay the lady she attacked 60,000b. There is a winner

I like the white patterned dress. Hope this is settled with a wai and 500 baht. If more money is involved then the next attacker is gonna want more damage for the money.  Where's the video ?

I agree.

That's the way I read it too.

So, where do the Japanese cartoons and cross legged woman come into it ?

Do the cartoons represent the opposing parties and is the cross legged woman an arbiter of sorts ?

Very confusing report , even by the Nations standards ?

And still in almost every guidebook about Thailand it is written that Thais are all sooo calm, and quiet, and polite, and never lose patience, and that it is the foreigners who lose face always in Thailand, for example when they talk a little too loud. :cheesy:

Ronnie Pickering in drag of course!

CCTV footage of the attack:

The report in the Daily News said the 50-year-old attacker was employed as a care worker for the elderly, which I guess won't fill the families of the people entrusted to her care with much confidence.

After the meeting at the police station to clear the matter, 30-year-old victim Miss Bum told reporters that the attacker never apologised or showed any remorse and was of the view that the 50k Baht damages sought was more than the assault warranted.
Miss Bum said she had never met the woman before and had to endure the attacker berating her for the whole 30 minute journey before the attack.

Video of the masked attacker leaving the police station on a motorcycle taxi while refusing to answer reporters' questions.
