My (Thai-)wife and I are checking the options of loaning money from the bank to build a small house. Amount is not that much, probably around 800k. We also want to pay back the amount including interest as quick as possible with 50k rates.

Since i really don't know anything about credits, banking etc here in Thailand i'd like to ask the experts.

a) Neither my wife nor myself have a valid "statement" of income from any Thai Company. We do have the necessary income to cover and pay back the expenses and interest but i guess, not having any proof of income whatsoever could be an issue. Is it a requirement by law or is there any way around that, by let's say presenting bank statements for the last few years, proofing our credibility? We were turned down at the bank when asking, but this was just low level cashier staff - so might be personal with higher permissions could deceide in our favour?

b) if not by a bank, are there other legal options to get that amount of money on credit?

Any competent advice is much appreciated ????

I do not have personal experience on this subject, but I have heard that Tisco Finance will sometimes lend to a foreigner that the banks won't touch.
