I've just found out I need to have something called a KR11 form in order to extend my non-imm O visa based on a Thai child.

Has anyone done this before and have any experience with what is needed to obtain this? I searched the site here and can find only a few references to KR11.

There is actually a dearth of information on the English interwebs about this KR11 thing as far as I can tell, unless my google skills are poor. I didnt know that situation could exist any more. Is it usually called something else? Googling "kr11 thailand", etc., yields almost no relevant info. Maybe it has a much more common name that I dont know yet? Of course searching in thai would probably show more, but I dont read thai.

I will call the amphur and ask what they want but in addition to whatever they might say I wonder if there could be additional requirements that they may make up once you get there, and any experiences/advice from people who have done it before to avoid any pitfalls. It appears to be well understood that what is required to get things done at immigration are the officially required forms, plus whatever additional ideas strike the fancy of the officers on duty the day you go. Is it true of KR11?

Thanks -

A Kor Ror is form used to legitimize your parenthood if you were not married to your child's mother when born.

A Amphoe will only do one if you child is 7 or over. If not then you have to get it done through a family court.

There is a long ongoing topic in the family and children forum here, https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/381917-how-to-gain-parental-rights-as-a-father/

You can get a 60 day extension to visit your child without being the legal father of your child.

Thanks for the info and the link to the other forum.

They did give me the 60 days, so now I'm working on getting the stuff together to apply for the year long extension.
