A 15-metre high scaffolding collapsed on Sunday (September 27) in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao area, possibly due to strong winds and rains on evening.

The scaffolding fell on two electric poles, obstructing a traffic channel. The incident took place near Lat Phrao Soi 69.

The scaffolding was used for construction of the Yellow Line Skytrain route. However, there were no casualties.

Officials said that they would look into the reasons for the collapse.

They assured that all construction-related equipment were checked before they were deployed. This was the first accident in the construction of the Yellow Line.

There was another collapse on a rail project a couple of months ago...the reason being it rained so the soil was wet !

A "traffic channel"? The Thai word ช่อง (chong) does mean channel in many contexts, but with regard to a road it translates as "lane". Is the writer relying on Google Translate?

And the ceiling of a station along the purple line....

The Thai should hire foreign safety inspectors....it's the only way to change their mindset.

They'd never get anything built.

Not everything, but there are also many construction collapses/accidents/incidents each year in the developed world as well.

Thailand is the hub of falling!

Worrying number of these incidences and it would be great to see a little more "health & safety" in play but unfortunately I don't think that's happening as soon as it should.

Police  suspect gravity caused the accident, gross negligence and stupidity was  immediately ruled out, Police have  given gravity 7 days to  appear before them, many suspect it  has  run home to Mummy.

They have excellent health n safety stickers though, once again  Thailand, land  of lip service
