Continuous rains are expected over most parts of the country with heavy showers over some areas, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Sunday.

Bangkok is likely to experience widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains.

The monsoon trough lies across the Central and the East, while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf, the department said.

People in risky areas should beware of severe conditions, the department said.

Moderate winds and waves are likely in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf, waves about two metres high in the upper Andaman Sea, 1-2 metres high in the upper Gulf, and more than two metres high during thundershowers.
