Porn DVD Vendor Arrested

The Pattaya Police received information that a Thai male is going around selling pornography and pirate copied DVDs to tourists in Soi Town in Town Hotel, Central Pattaya Road, which was really disturbing people there.

In the night of 29th April when more details came in as complaints, the Pattaya Police sent down undercover police to investigate the scene regarding this matter.

The undercover police watched the behavior of a particular vendor going into bars and restaurants in that area – carrying a black bag and trying to sell his DVDs to customers.

The vendor, Khomsan Khanthong, was brought back to the station together with the evidence of 10 porn VCDs and 10 copied DVDs, and will be charged.

The real news should have been "387+ Porn Vendors Were NOT Arrested Again This Evening"

Just an hour ago, I must have passed a dozen vendors selling pirated movies and CDs (including porn movies). I guess the difference is that the ones I saw weren't going out of their way to hassle tourists.

SHOCKING :D

I will sleep easy tonight knowing the BIB of Gotham City have caught this vile criminal, rather than wasting their time on the silly muggers, rapists, dealers and murderers :o

i read the title and thought to myself "hooray, they've actually done something"

i caught a paedophile in pattaya on 2 occasions(the same farang male)

the 2nd time i caught the paedophile i called the police, the farang was in possesion of a flash drive that he used to store the images :o

the top cop at the station obviously knew the guy and must have been on the take...to the disgust of myself and witnesses the farang was allowed to leave without charge :D

apparently thailand is fine for people to look at naked children...the phrase i heard from several thai cops was "only looking" "this thailand" "mai pen rai"...

i pray the bbc or any international news organisation blows the lid on thailands attitudes and society...

I am not disagreeing with your sentiments or position but I do feel it is better to deal

with specific issues without making a mishmash with lesser issues.

I can understand that Libya's headline might have led you to believe that this incident

involved more than run of the mill pornography but if you read the thread you would

have seen that it did not.

If you have made an attempt to combat sexual abuse of children I can only applaud

you.

After fleeing Pattaya for the sticks following many years in residence there, these news clippings are very interesting and sometimes quite funny only illustrating that little changes in crazy town & reinforcing my decision to leave before total insanity set in. Keep up the good work Libya. Incidentally; is there a new police squad in Pattaya, similar to the USA's S.W.A.T team, does Pattaya now have a SWOOP team?..........Seemingly a lot of 'swooping' going on by the boys in brown:-)

A great pity, providing a valued service like this. An even greater pity that the police choose an easy target rather than pickpockets, robbers, drug dealers or even bars that over charge tourists.

If this guy is the same one I buy from he sells a great product, and even gives a guarantee with every purchase.

I'm very curious--how did you catch a pedophile?

i caught him in "enjoy internet" on both occasions...the 1st time the paeodophile was sat in enjoy internet before i arrived....as i sat down i caught a glimpse of his screen...the paedophile ran off while i had to talk to staff*became clearer later*

the next time was in a different store operated by "enjoy internet" approx 150 mtres from the 1st store :D

it became evident that "enjoy internet" and all their staff were well aware of this paedophiles activities and had no problem with it :D
