Popular Post ThailandRyan
Here is a little update from my extension of stay trip to CW today. I had previously scheduled my appointment for an extension of stay based on retirement for this morning at 9:30 am using the online Immigration appointment website of http://203.151.166.132/immigrant_queue/booking/. I decided that Instead of driving through the traffic I would take the BTS from Chatuchack to the new end of the line station at Wat Phra Si Mahathat after having read about another TV members experience of using the new station and shaving off some time in traffic. From there to the CW Immigration building B complex was only an approximate 5 minute drive as I had left early enough in order to get to CW by 8:30 am and traffic seemed light going across through the Wat and into Lak Si. Since I was using the 800,000K Baht method for my retirement extension, after my arrival at CW, I went downstairs to K-Bank, and was the first in line at 8:15 am with a line of about 10 people forming behind me prior to the banks opening. I was told by the teller that I needed to add a minimum of 1,000 baht to my fixed deposit account in order to update the bank book, and then obtained a new letter with the new balance as needed along with the copies of the bank book pages as required. At 9:15 am I arrived at the on-line appointment desk and was taken in early. In addition to the three new papers that have been listed in previous experiences there was 1 more form which explained what was needed for a Retirement extension. This new form was to be signed in the presence of the IO and then held up so a picture could be taken for the file apparently. My Health insurance certificates for this current year and next year were already in the immigration computer system, and the IO also wanted the copies I had prepared. All of the required copies were given to the IO in the package I had presented on my arrival. It took about 15 minutes for the IO to review and stamp the documents provided and then stamp my Passport. I was told to take a seat and my paperwork was handed off to another lady for a final review. At about 10:00am The senior IO lady who had reviewed my paperwork, and looked over the extension stamps placed in the passport by the original IO called me in. She pointed out that there were two stamps in the passport, one for today the 20th of October for when the extension was given, and then the actual extension stamp dated for November 20th of next year aligning with when my Health Insurance expires. Overall, I spent Just under two hours in the Immigration building from the time I arrived until the time I grabbed a taxi and headed back to the BTS station. I would like to thank everyone who has added in there experiences and the forms that are needed in a package to make a for a successful trip to Immigration and walking away with a fresh extension in my passport. On a side note, while I was waiting for my Passport and bankbook to be returned, I watched as another gentleman had a problem with the IO's as he did not have his prior bankbook with him, and then another gentleman who had copies of his prior extensions from his old passport printed out, but not the old passport itself with him. I personally, had my old bankbook and my old passport with me based upon reading similar postings here on TV, but I was never asked. I did have to supply them with a copy of the TM-30, in addition to the 3 new forms, as well as the now 4th paper you must sign, and all of the items that have been listed by a previous member he had previously posted in another OP. When I find the other OP I will add it to this OP as well. Wishing everyone the best of luck as they negotiate through their extension of stays. Here is the previous Op that has additional info as well: Edited October 20, 2020 by ThailandRyan 1
