October 28, 20205 yr As the title, Can a farang wife ( under 50) of an expat holding a non B visa on a 1 year extension, qualify for any extension tied to his visa/extension? I know a Farang wife of a farang on a non o extension based on being over 50, can get a extension attached to the 1st farang without showing any more money than the 800,000 \Asking for a friend Edited October 28, 20205 yr by zzzzz
October 28, 20205 yr A family member of a person on a one year extension of stay based upon working can apply for a extension of stay.
October 28, 20205 yr I was actually offered to do this by a Phuket law agent - Get my spouse a new work permit and non-B extension (she's not "Farang" per se but is Japanese, which also means that in her case a WP3 pre-work permit is not required for instance, perks of Japan-Thai relations...), and then get me on a spousal non-B extension. We ended up doing something else to extend our stay in the country since we no longer have intention of working here, but it seemed pretty straightfoward, if costly. Timeline was a roughly a month, starting from expired non-Bs and cancelled work permits. Edited October 28, 20205 yr by bjaz

She would need a non-o visa that can be applied for at immigration. See: https://bangkokimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/04-edit_NON.pdf No need to leave the country.
