My retirement extension is due for renewal in November. My original visa was a Non-B so I didn’t need the general health insurance at last year’s renewal. 
I have not left Thailand at all in the last year. My local immigration office is Hua Hin. 
Does anyone with actual recent renewal experience know if the Covid insurance policy is now required for renewing in country?

Covid 19 insurance is only required for entering the country with a certificate of entry issued by a embassy.

I just renewed my retirement extension (Originally I had a Non - O Visa based on marriage) at CW last Tuesday, and was not asked for any type of insurance.

Actually nobody with an Non-O is required to have insurance. Only O-A visa holders who extend are being asked.
