Increased PM2.5 forecast in southwest Bangkok on Thursday and Friday

People living in the southwestern part of Bangkok, as well as Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi provinces, are advised to brace for increasing PM2.5 in the atmosphere on Thursday and Friday, due to the onset of a cold front from China, which will result to poor air circulation, according to Mr. Atthapol Charoenchansa, director-general of the Pollution Control Department.

He said that the air pollution, caused by PM2.5, will improve slightly tomorrow, thanks to the impact of the Vamco depression, which has weakened to a low pressure cell over Vietnam, but will improve air circulation and bring rain.

Air pollution this year is expected to be less serious than last year and earlier this year, due to a lower concentration of dust particles in the atmosphere, said Mr. Atthapol, adding that the Pollution Control Department has set a target of reducing dust particulate in the atmosphere by as much as 20%.

That is simply unachievable . And not realistic .

They are setting ' targets ' and always fail to reach them .

It is just :

And again, no mention of the cause except to blame it on the weather! ????

Seems the multinational agro corporate greed (everybody knows who controls the rice and sugar industries in Thailand) and disdain for the local peasantry is beyond the pale.

Yeah okay...20% with what measures?

One more sermon about PM2.5 and air pollution.

Distraction or just stupidity?

...will get the dirt from Bangkok. As simple as that.

PM2.5 might travel to Phetburi, Cha-Am and Hua-Hin too?

The site  https://www.ventusky.com/  shows the situation since some days.

OK, might be a bit too bad, but basically correct.

That's true.

I would add education, food safety and some more items to what you have said.

On the other hand, we love this country?

Covid is a subject in many other threads. I'm not fit in this.

To be honest, me and 'some of us' are very happy to be here in Thailand.

Not being in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, UK, USA, Brasil, India etc.
