Last week in the Consular team #11

Recommended Posts

We are running a little behind with our updates, after a busy couple of weeks. This post looks at our work up to 20th November.

In the past two weeks, the Consular team has provided 59 notarial services and dealt with 29 emergency cases, including supporting a mother and baby returning to the UK, with staff making a late night journey to the airport to make sure the family departed safely. We also launched a new monthly bulletin for Thai authorities up-country (e.g. immigration offices and TAC), with updates on the Embassy's Consular processes and policies, so they can pass this info on to British Nationals. We started work on a big new project on child safeguarding and another to raise awareness of rape and sexual assault amongst the big British teacher and student population here in Thailand. We supported the Embassy's Deputy Head of Mission on a visit to Chiang Mai to talk to authorities there about our prevention priorities. And we celebrated the 17th year on the job of one of our Consular team.
