webfact
Northwest monsoon brings heavy rain to 11 provinces in South By The Nation The Thai Meteorological Department has announced that 11 provinces in the South will face heavy rains and strong waves from Tuesday to Friday. The department believes that the Northeast monsoon moving over the Gulf of Thailand and the South, coupled with the arrival of depression from the South China Sea in Malaysia, will make the rain more intense. The department has also warned people in certain provinces to be prepared for flash floods. The provinces of Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Krabi, Trang and Satun will be hit by very heavy rains in some areas on Tuesday and Wednesday. Though the rains are expected to ease off on Thursday, strong waves will hit the coast of the Gulf of Thailand and seafarers have been advised to stay on land at least until Friday. khunPer
I wonder why the headline talks about the "Northwest monsoon", whilst the article explains about the "Northeast monsoon", which is the one we are having in "the Gulf of Thailand and the South" at this time of the year...???? It is the Northeast Monsoon this time of year.
Ventenio
I would never say North and then talk about places in the South....makes no sense. And the "Northern Snowstorm hits Southern Thailand." ????????!?!?!?!?!?!? Today there will be a Northwest Storm that only affects the South. You can say, "there is a southernly wind...." that's about it. lol
