teacherclaire
Always with the filter to make sure that you are on the safe side. Time to do your oil change by yourself.

jackdd
According to the maintenance schedule which i found on Google you are supposed to change the oil and filter every 12,000kms I assume you requested an oil change before 12,000kms? Then the shop did just do what they were told by you, changed the oil, the 12k km service were probably not due yet, thus they didn't think about changing the oil filter. If you can't or not want to do a bike service yourself OK. Taking your CBR to a shop every year or 10,000 k or less tor an oil change you need to tell them what you want done. Like change the filter as well. Change the washer on the sump drain plug to. When they have finished :- Check you oil level. Check for oil leaks. Check your chain. Check your tyre pressures.
