I'm looking for somewhere that's relatively easy to get to from both Chiang Mai and Bangkok and has walks, waterfalls, maybe some wildlife... Khao Yai would be an option but it may be busy (I'm thinking of 3-4 days at the end of the month) so it'd be good to hear any other suggestions.

Easy from both Chiang Mai and Bangkok ? Since they are at opposite sides of the country...pretty much anything that shows up as a big green blob in the middle of the Google map

Some of the green blobs are miles from the nearest airport though, and some are near an airport but not one that has a direct link from CM.

Rayong and Krabi airports look like good options - anyone know how the area around Khao Chamao or Chantaburi compares to the area around Krabi?
