webfact
Khon Kaen reinforces COVID-19 precautions after finding a lapse in awareness BANGKOK (NNT) - Khon Kaen has intensified screening points against COVID-19 after finding many residents are no longer wearing face masks while in public. Three major screening points have been set up in the province, one located on Mitraphap Road, across from Khao Suan Kwang District Hall. The checks target people entering the province as well as those passing thru to Nakhon Ratchasima. Particular emphasis has been placed on public transport buses, which have been identified as one way people are circumventing checks. Assistant Public Health Official for Khao Suan Kwang Pongsak Sapsilathong admitted most people in Khon Kaen have stopped using masks. He urged all in the province to continue to be mindful of mask wearing, noting that, on top of COVID-19, the masks can also help protect against an increase in air pollution. -- © Copyright NNT 2020-12-14 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
NanLaew
I can see this tightening of oversight increasing throughout the country during this years less than festive season. There's been an undeniable slip back to the pre- April laxity in malls, shops and markets up here in Udon Thani. This false sense of security can also be attributed to the lack of any reported local transmissions or clusters but considering the recent illegal border crossings, it only makes sense to up the ante. If the border was 'porous' before, it could become like a sieve during the holidays. There are people desperate to either get to work or come home and the traffickers don't care.

Agreed, but one case would not be classed as a wave but i would not want to be that case.
