It is extremely rare to have a dietary deficiency of phophorus.

More commonly low levels are related to Vitamin D deficiency or consumption of antacids or other medications that block phosphate absorption.  It can also be due to magnesium deficiency or elevated levels of calcium. (Vit D and magnesium are necessary for phosphorus absorption).

Have your Vit D, calcium and magnesium  levels been checked? And are you on meds? Do you consume much alcohol?

If the problem is low D then D supplement would be indicated. Ditto if due to low magnesium.

On the contrary, Vit D deficiency is especially common in Thailand and other tropical countries. The reason being that the sun is uncomfortably hot so people tend to stay out of it.

Any hospital and many labs can do Vit D level. Be sure to also check calcium and magnesium if these were nto already done. Magnesium and Vit D are necessary for phosphorus absorption, while high levels of calcium will reduce phosphorus by binding to it.

As far as I know Vit c would not lower phosphorus levels; however that said, a daily dose of 1000 mg is way excessive and you should reduce it.

Yes.

this (the high calcium) would explain the slightly low phosphorus as Calcium binds to phosphorus.

Now you need to find out what is causing the elevated calcium. You may need to see a specialist at some point but we can narrow things down with some more labs.

Are you a smoker?

Psa 1.6 last month .non smoker.my other bloods all good liver kidney etc.i just having been feeling 100% lately mentally. I have loss of interest in things and anxiety somedays.

what would  suggest .my mam has thyroid she takes tyroxin.i also checked the thyroid a couple of months ago and all ok.the lab is closed today .i think the parathyroid test would need to do be sent to special lab or hospital-

Parathyroid hormone (PTH) level is what you need next (good signs that you are non-smoker and normal PSA, makes bone metastasis unlikely leaving parathyroid adenoma as likely culprit).

The vague symptoms you describe could be due to parathyroid adenoma which is  the most likely cause for elevated calcium levels.  (Despite the name, most of these are benign, nto cancerous - but will usually require surgery to remove).

You will probably end up needing to consult a good endocrinologist (in Bangkok) so a lot depends on how concerned you are re cost. You could see one straightaway and have the parathyroid level checked at that hospital or wait to get that lab first.  This is the endocrinologist I would recommend, she is very good:

PTH  came back normal done at 8am, told me 3 days but got result back in 24hrs,5.5 normal, range I read that 20% of hpt show a high calcium and normal pth, as I can't get to bangkok at the moment I shall  have a ultrasound here in pattaya and see if anything shows, thanks again sheryl

Recheck the phosphorus and PTH while you are at it.
