Is Rybelsus (semaglutide) available in Thailand?

I currently take one 7 mg tablet per day. It seems like the most I can get at one time is a 90 day prescription in the US. Has anyone seen it in Thailand?

 

It's fairly expensive at around $2500 per 90 day supply. When in Medicare Part D gap I pay 25% or about $625.

 

Has anyone tried filling this prescription by mail?

1. Semaglutide is available in Thailand only as Ozempic which is a once a week injection. Expensive and you have to get from a pharmacy or clinic as it is prescription only.

 

2. It is illegal to import medications by mail without an FDA permit. In practice small quantities often get through if sent regular mail. By courier, almost always stopped at customs.

Any of the hospitals should have it.

 

You might be able to get it from a large pharmacy like Fascino if you can show some sort of prescription, but mostly it is hospitals only (it is category "s" - prescription only).

Suggested  'Victoza'  as was the same as  Ozempic /Trulicity = 1 injection per week = box with 4 vials = cost 3,000 baht per month..

 

Is this the same as Rybelsus  ?

It is not the exact same -- Rybelsus (and Ozempic) is semaglutide.  Victoza is liraglutide.

 

These are in the same family of drugs and have the same action, but they are not identical.

 

Semaglutide is somewhat more effective, but costs more.

Both are available without prescription from Diamond Pharmacy in Bangkok.  Pulse Clinic can provide Rybelsus (don't know about Ozempic) but Diamond is cheaper.  Samitivej doesn't have Ozempic, but does have Rybelsus but, as you'd expect it's rather expensive - 445 baht/tablet for 7 mg.  (Diamond is 283/tablet.)

I got mine at sriphat for 7900. It is affiliated with cmu and maharaj so government hospital. That was last year.
